IT Operations Engineer

PostmanCupertino, CA

About The Position

We are looking for a versatile, people-focused IT Operations Engineer to be the heartbeat of our Cupertino office. In this role, you will own the onsite technology experience end-to-end—from conference room readiness to laptop onboarding to vendor coordination. This is a high-visibility location that includes company leadership and frequent executive presence. Consequently, the emphasis is on quality of service, reliability, and proactive care, rather than raw ticket volume. You’ll ensure employees have a seamless experience, vendors stay accountable, and the office remains a world-class environment where technology accelerates the work being done inside it. This is an ideal role for someone who loves being hands-on, building relationships, and operating with a high degree of autonomy while staying connected to a global IT organization.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years in IT Support or IT Operations, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
  • Mac-First Expert: Deep troubleshooting skills with macOS hardware and software.
  • SaaS Fluency: Experience with Okta (lifecycle management) and Google Workspace administration.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Comfortable with basic concepts (VLANs, WiFi signal testing, ISP troubleshooting, and cable tracing).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 50 lbs) and navigate office spaces for cabling, mounting monitors, or patching racks.
  • Personable & Poised: You enjoy helping others and remain calm while supporting high-level executives under pressure.
  • Proactive & Reliable: You notice a frayed cable or a disconnected tablet before it becomes a ticket.
  • Detail-Oriented: You take pride in organized server closets, labeled cables, and tidy conference rooms.
  • Independent Operator: You thrive with autonomy and can manage your own priorities while aligning with a global team's objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Jamf Pro or other Apple MDM solutions.
  • Familiarity with Jira Service Management.
  • Prior experience supporting C-level or executive leadership.
  • Exposure to AV systems or Zoom Room administration.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Experience & "White-Glove" Support
  • Be the Onsite Expert: Provide friendly, in-person support for our Cupertino team. From hardware refreshes to troubleshooting complex software issues, you are the face of IT.
  • Executive Support: Ensure high-stakes meetings and leadership workstations run flawlessly. You will proactively check conference room systems before important sessions and provide immediate assistance when needed.
  • Onboarding & Lifecycle: Deliver an exceptional "Day One" experience for new hires. You’ll manage the local deployment of Macs, monitors, and peripherals.
  • Local Infrastructure & "Smart Hands"
  • Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary onsite contact for VAR partners and ISP technicians. You will escort them, verify the quality of their work, and perform physical tasks (cable tracing, patching, power cycles) under their remote guidance.
  • AV & Zoom Rooms: Own the daily health of our conference rooms. Ensure systems are online, cables are tidy, and hardware is functional.
  • Office Tech Reliability: Keep essential onsite systems running, including printers, badging/security systems, and digital signage.
  • Asset Management & Security
  • Inventory Integrity: Maintain 100% accuracy in our asset management system. You will track the lifecycle of every device from procurement to secure retirement.
  • Physical Security: Partner with our Security team to ensure local office tech complies with security protocols, including hardware encryption and secure badge access.
  • Systems, SaaS, & Process
  • SaaS Administration: Handle access provisioning and first-line troubleshooting for core platforms (Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Jira).
  • Documentation: Capture the "local quirks" of the Cupertino site (e.g., printer IPs, room layouts, local workflows) and contribute to our global IT knowledge base.
  • Global Collaboration: Use strong asynchronous communication (Slack, Jira) to keep remote managers and global teammates informed of local site status and project progress.
