About The Position

Under limited supervision and direction of the Identity Team IT Supervisor, this position will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing enterprise systems related to Identity Management, both on-premises and in the cloud, for the State of Nebraska. Additional responsibilities include optimization, documentation, and maintenance, and performance of technologies related to Identity Management. Candidate will establish procedures, guidelines and standards; performs related work as assigned. This position will be responsible for mentoring and guiding systems engineers with advanced problem resolution skills.

Requirements

Associate’s or other similar two year technical degree in computer engineering/science, communications/electronic equipment, or related discipline of study AND three to five years of work experience strategic work planning, and conducting the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of equipment and components of a large communications network in addition to performing the analysis of network/electronics equipment and preparing related technical recommendations.
Three additional years of applicable work experience can be substituted for a degree.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Extensive knowledge of information technology theory, principles, and practices.
Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software.
General knowledge of local and wide area network systems.
Knowledge of client/server network protocols and Internet/Intranet applications.
Skill in delivering responsive, quality customer service.
Ability to write clear and concise documentation of systems and procedures.
Ability to successfully apply information engineering techniques; ability to design a data centered information system; ability to effectively design and use relational databases; ability to effectively test and debug systems and programs.
Ability to accurately estimate time and cost requirements in project development and implementation.
Ability to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals.
Ability to plan, organize, and meet schedules and time lines for assigned work.
Regular and Reliable attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor degree in IT related field.
Three years of experience in Microsoft Windows Server administration and management.
Three years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, MIM, LAPS, Group Policy, and MFA administration.
Certifications are a plus.
A working knowledge of infrastructure, server environments, application management, and basic networking.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support at a lead level for our Active Directory/Identity Management environments on premise and in the cloud.
Maintain systems related to Identity Management such as MIM, LAPS, Multi-Factor Authentication, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, Domain Controller administration, certificate administration, and more.
Act as a technical liaison between upper management and subordinate teammates and offer support to our clients.
Develop and maintain procedures and processes.
Create documentation.
Assist clients and other information technology employees.
Mentoring and guiding systems engineers with advanced problem resolution skills.
