About The Position

The IT Network Generalist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the network and technology infrastructure within a high-volume, temperature-controlled Perishable Distribution Center (PDC). This is a hands-on onsite (Orlando, FL) role Monday to Friday supporting warehouse operations where network availability directly impacts receiving, storage, picking, shipping, inventory management, voice picking, scanning, printing, and product movement. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of IT/networking experience and a strong interest in hands-on network support. The individual will work closely with Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Operations, Warehouse Technology, and third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues and maintain reliable technology services across the distribution center. The environment includes Aruba Wireless, Aruba LAN switching, Fortinet SD-WAN, Honeywell Voice/VoCollect, Zebra printers, handheld scanners, RF devices, and other warehouse technology.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of IT, networking, infrastructure, or technical support experience.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4 addressing and subnetting, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, Switching, Routing, Wi-Fi/WLAN, Ethernet, Network troubleshooting
  • Experience troubleshooting network-connected devices.
  • Experience with enterprise wireless networks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using ping, traceroute, nslookup, IP configuration tools, and basic network monitoring tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding distribution center environment.
  • Ability to lift/move IT equipment and work around warehouse operations when required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, or off-hours when operationally required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Aruba Networks / HPE Aruba Networking.
  • Experience with Aruba Central, Aruba switches and wireless access points.
  • Experience with Fortinet FortiGate / Fortinet SD-WAN.
  • Experience with Honeywell Voice/VoCollect, Zebra printers and handheld devices.
  • Experience supporting warehouse management systems or distribution center technology.
  • Experience supporting RF scanners or mobile computers.
  • Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, grocery, retail, or logistics environment.
  • CCNA, Aruba, Fortinet, or equivalent technical certification.
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
  • Basic understanding of network monitoring and logging tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operation of the PDC network infrastructure.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Aruba wireless access points, Aruba switches, and network connectivity.
  • Perform basic configuration and troubleshooting of Aruba LAN and WLAN equipment.
  • Troubleshoot VLAN, DHCP, DNS, IP addressing, port connectivity, and network access issues.
  • Assist with switch port provisioning, device connectivity, and network changes.
  • Troubleshoot network outages and connectivity issues affecting warehouse operations.
  • Perform network health checks and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Escalate complex network issues to the Network Engineering team with appropriate troubleshooting information.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, device inventories, port assignments, and cable records.
  • Support Aruba APs and wireless infrastructure throughout the distribution center, including warehouse, freezer/cooler, staging, loading dock, offices, and yard areas.
  • Troubleshoot wireless coverage, connectivity, authentication, roaming, latency, and performance issues.
  • Assist with troubleshooting RF-related issues, including interference, weak signal, and poor roaming.
  • Support wireless connectivity for handheld scanners, Honeywell Voice devices, tablets, printers, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Validate wireless connectivity and performance after equipment moves, construction changes, or network modifications.
  • Work with Network Engineering on wireless surveys, AP placement, and optimization activities.
  • Provide first-level support for Fortinet SD-WAN/FortiGate connectivity.
  • Monitor WAN connectivity and identify circuit, tunnel, or performance issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic LAN-to-WAN connectivity problems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting Internet, MPLS, broadband, and backup WAN connectivity.
  • Validate SD-WAN connectivity following circuit or equipment changes.
  • Escalate complex firewall, routing, VPN, or SD-WAN issues to Network Engineering/Security teams.
  • Support Honeywell Voice/VoCollect devices and associated wireless connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot voice device connectivity, login, roaming, headset, and communication issues.
  • Support Honeywell voice equipment used by warehouse selectors and operators.
  • Work with warehouse operations and Honeywell support when voice picking issues occur.
  • Troubleshoot whether an issue is related to the device, wireless network, voice application, or backend system.
  • Assist with device provisioning, replacement, testing, and deployment.
  • Maintain spare voice devices and accessories as required.
  • Support Zebra label printers used for warehouse, receiving, picking, inventory, and shipping operations.
  • Troubleshoot wired and wireless Zebra printer connectivity.
  • Support printer IP addressing, DHCP reservations, network ports, and basic configuration.
  • Troubleshoot print queues, connectivity, cabling, and device communication issues.
  • Support Zebra handheld scanners and mobile computers.
  • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity, device registration, application connectivity, scanning, and battery/accessory issues.
  • Assist with device staging, configuration, replacement, and deployment.
  • Maintain inventory of handheld scanners, printers, charging stations, batteries, and accessories.
  • Coordinate with Zebra or application support when hardware or software issues require vendor assistance.
  • Provide hands-on IT support in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Respond quickly to technology incidents that could impact receiving, picking, shipping, inventory, or transportation operations.
  • Work directly with warehouse leadership and operations teams to understand business impact and prioritize incidents.
  • Support technology during peak operating periods, including nights, weekends, holidays, and seasonal volume increases as required.
  • Assist with technology deployments, moves, adds, and changes throughout the facility.
  • Support new equipment installations and warehouse technology projects.
  • Perform physical troubleshooting in warehouse areas, including racks, docks, staging areas, coolers/freezers, and production areas.
  • Follow all site safety requirements when working around warehouse equipment, conveyors, forklifts, refrigeration areas, and loading operations.
