About The Position

SpaceX is looking for an experienced network engineer with expertise in networking technologies that support routing, switching, dynamic multicast, Wi-Fi, network access control, automation, etc. This position will be directly involved with supporting and expanding our campus and data center infrastructure as well as our expansive wireless network using reliable and redundant design standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other STEM discipline and 7+ of years professional network engineering experience; OR 10+ years of professional network engineering experience in lieu of a degree
• Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Must have valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Expert understanding of the OSI model and network standards
• Hands on experience with Cisco Catalyst, Juniper, and Arista data center class switches
• Hands on experience with Cisco wireless LAN controllers or other wireless technologies
• Hands on experience with Network Access Control (NAC) using 802.1X
• Hands on experience with Wave Division Multiplexing and Fiber Optics
• Hands on experience with DNS, DHCP, SNMP, IP helpers, ARP, CDP, LLDP
• Hands on experience with BGP routing
• Hands on experience with switch port security features
• Hands on experience with network monitoring tools
• Hands on experience with network documentation
• Hands on experience with Linux/Windows system administration
• Experience with Python scripting
• Industry standard certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or JNCIE

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and troubleshooting of large-scale, complex wired and wireless networks
• Configure, install, and support campus and data center networks
• Troubleshoot wired/wireless networking related issues
• Support the deployment of network access control (NAC) using 802.1X
• Develop and enforce network policies and standards
• Plan and prepare project roadmaps
• Develop network automation tools to support our enterprise network
• Monitor network health using in-house and 3rd party tools
• Create and maintain proper documentation of our networks
