About The Position

Standard Bots builds robotic solutions for real-world automation. Our Glen Cove site houses manufacturing, lab, and field engineering teams; our IT Manager will be a hands-on partner to those teams, keeping networks, devices, and services secure and audit-ready so the rest of the company can move fast. We’re hiring an IT Manager to run day-to-day IT operations at our Glen Cove site. This is a hands-on role that blends office and lab networking, cybersecurity, and employee support (Tier 1–2), with frequent collaboration with Manufacturing Operations, Facilities, and Applications/Field teams. The role has important compliance responsibilities: you will help operate and evidence controls that support SOC 2 and government-style attestations and audits. Experience supporting business systems such as a customized ERP is helpful but not required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in IT support / systems administration (preferably in environments combining office, lab, or manufacturing support).
  • Direct experience supporting SOC 2 audits or government-style attestations — implementing controls, producing auditor-ready evidence, coordinating with auditors, and closing remediation items.
  • Strong troubleshooting across endpoints, identity, and SaaS apps.
  • Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, Wi-Fi.
  • Practical cybersecurity experience: MFA/SSO, patching, endpoint security, access controls, logging/monitoring.
  • Clear communicator with a customer-service mindset and solid documentation habits.
  • Comfortable working on-site full time in Glen Cove.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MDM (Jamf, Intune, Kandji) and EDR tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and networking gear (Ubiquiti, Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
  • Familiarity with SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria in depth and with government security frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, or similar).
  • Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate IT tasks and evidence collection.
  • Experience supporting a customized ERP (user support, roles/access, integrations, vendor coordination).
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, lab, or field service environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Glen Cove office and lab network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPN).
  • Support secure network segmentation for office, lab, and manufacturing systems (including robotic test networks).
  • Monitor network health and respond to connectivity/performance incidents; keep accurate topology/configuration documentation.
  • Coordinate installs/upgrades and outages with ISPs, vendors, and Facilities; maintain configuration backups and change records.
  • Operate and enforce security controls with the explicit goal of supporting SOC 2 and government-style attestations: maintain controls, evidence, and processes required for audits.
  • Administer identity & access controls and evidence of least-privilege practices: SSO/MFA configuration, provisioning/deprovisioning workflows, and periodic access reviews.
  • Maintain endpoint security posture (MDM enrollment, patch management, disk encryption, EDR/AV, secure baselines) and produce evidence demonstrating control operation.
  • Implement and document security policies, procedures, and runbooks aligned to SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria (and relevant government frameworks).
  • Support audit readiness and coordinate with internal compliance owners and external auditors: collect evidence, respond to auditor requests, run pre-audit checks, and close remediation items.
  • Participate in incident response and ensure post-incident evidence and remediation steps are documented for attestation purposes.
  • Maintain logging, monitoring, and vulnerability scanning programs that provide audit-ready outputs.
  • Provide Tier 1–2 support for macOS/Windows endpoints, printers, conferencing, and AV for on-site labs and offices.
  • Run hardware lifecycle functions: procurement, imaging, deployment, inventory, and RMAs.
  • Maintain IT documentation, runbooks, and user self-service guides; onboard/offboard employees in a way that supports audit evidence collection.
  • Administer core SaaS platforms (Google Workspace / Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, password manager) and support integrations used by Glen Cove teams.
  • Support on-site manufacturing and lab systems (work with Manufacturing Ops on device connectivity, field tooling, and test benches).
  • Provide frontline support and user access management for our customized ERP (Nice to have): user troubleshooting, role/access updates, and vendor coordination for escalations or upgrades.
  • Work with Applications / Field teams to troubleshoot field device connectivity and to enable smooth handoffs between on-site and remote teams.
  • Partner closely with Head of Manufacturing Operations, Facilities Manager, and Apps/Field teams to prioritize work and reduce operational risk for Glen Cove.
  • Create/maintain SOPs and compliance artifacts; contribute to on-call rotation as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement of technical and process controls to reduce audit findings and support faster attestations.
