About The Position

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking an IT Manager at our Home Office in Houston, TX. We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven IT Manager to lead the modernization, stability, and security of our technology environment. This role is critical to ensuring a reliable, scalable infrastructure that supports NorthStar's business operations while meeting strict cybersecurity and regulatory standards. This leader will play a pivotal role in modernizing our cloud infrastructure, strengthening system reliability, and driving key initiatives across data management, disaster recovery, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an IT Manager or similar leadership role
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly Microsoft Azure
  • Demonstrated success managing infrastructure, systems, and security in a production environment
  • Experience with PCI compliance and working within regulated environments
  • Solid understanding of data management, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning
  • Strong leadership, communication, and performance management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (Azure or related) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the modernization of cloud-based infrastructure, with a focus on performance, scalability, and long-term sustainability
  • Ensure a stable, highly available environment for business-critical applications
  • Oversee server environments, system architecture, and cloud operations (primarily Azure)
  • Maintain systems in alignment with cybersecurity best practices and internal standards
  • Partner with leadership to strengthen and evolve security posture across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with PCI and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Oversee data storage strategy, backup processes, and disaster recovery planning
  • Ensure business continuity through well-tested recovery protocols and redundancy planning
  • Lead, develop, and manage IT staff, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure team and system performance
  • Drive performance management processes, coaching team members to achieve high standards
