About The Position

Ackerman Plumbing is seeking an experienced and driven IT Manager to oversee and optimize the company’s technology infrastructure and systems. This role is responsible for managing helpdesk operations, configuring and deploying computers for new employees, maintaining IT assets, and ensuring the reliability and security of our technological environment. The IT Manager will also evaluate and optimize the company’s technology stack, identify redundancies, and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and support operational growth. This role will collaborate with technology vendors, implement best practices for cybersecurity and infrastructure, and assess emerging technologies—including AI tools—that may provide strategic advantages to the business. The IT Manager will lead the company’s technology operations and infrastructure while providing hands-on support for daily IT needs. This role will oversee helpdesk operations, maintain hardware and software systems, manage technology vendors, and ensure employees have the tools and support they need to operate efficiently. As the organization grows, the IT Manager will help build and lead an internal IT team while developing scalable systems and processes that support both office and field operations.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in Information Technology roles
Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and helpdesk operations
Strong experience configuring computers, user accounts, and network access
Experience managing hardware and software asset inventories
Experience working with technology vendors and managing service agreements
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Experience supporting cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, or similar environments
Experience developing cybersecurity practices and IT policies
Leadership experience or the ability to build and manage an IT team
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
IT Asset Management Systems
Network administration and system configuration
Cloud-based infrastructure platforms
Endpoint management and security tools

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure including networks, servers, workstations, mobile devices, and cloud-based platforms.
Oversee helpdesk operations and provide hands-on technical support when necessary.
Configure, deploy, and maintain computers, mobile devices, user accounts, and system access for new and existing employees.
Maintain and track all technology assets including hardware inventory, software licenses, and equipment lifecycle management.
Serve as the primary liaison with technology vendors, software providers, and managed service partners.
Audit the company’s technology stack to identify redundancies and optimize system capabilities.
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI solutions, that may improve efficiency and business operations.
Develop and maintain cybersecurity protocols and best practices to protect company systems and data.
Ensure reliable connectivity and technology support for both office and field personnel.
Develop documentation and standard operating procedures for IT systems and support processes.
Assist with technology integration between operational systems, accounting platforms, and project management software.
Build and manage an internal IT support team as the company grows.
Perform other duties as assigned to support overall project and company success.
