About The Position

The IT Manager – Revenue Cycle, Ambulatory & Patient Engagement directs the operations of Information Technology impacting revenue cycle, patient access, patient engagement, and ambulatory services. In this high-impact leadership role, you will shape the technology infrastructure that drives exceptional patient care—leading talented teams, forging strong partnerships with clinical and operational leaders, and delivering innovative IT solutions across Covenant HealthCare and its affiliate facilities. Revenue Cycle includes Hospital and Outpatient Registration, Scheduling, Claims, Billing, Health Information Management, Coding, Clinical Documentation Improvement and Finance. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years leading projects and/or individuals or two (2) years of leadership experience required.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle workflows, ambulatory operations, patient access processes, and patient engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of patient engagement tools and platforms (e.g., patient portals, secure messaging, automated outreach) and their role in improving access, satisfaction, and care outcomes.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software and web technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to partner effectively with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Managing department capital and operating budget
  • Resource manager responsible for assigning the right people to the right projects at the right time. Manage and monitor resource utilization ensuring productivity and addressing issues of capacity.
  • Manage and monitor service and support requests to ensure they meet established service level agreements.
  • Escalation point for service and support issues requiring leadership support.
  • Responsible for hiring and organizational structure for areas in which they are responsible.
  • Supports the organization’s Mission, Vision and Values through demonstrated actions and leadership, and focuses staff on their commitment to strategic plan.
  • Shapes and champions the technology roadmap across revenue cycle, ambulatory, patient access and patient engagement for both Covenant and Affiliate Facilities, positioning IT as a strategic driver of organizational growth.
  • Stays ahead of emerging healthcare IT trends and industry advancements, bringing innovative ideas that keep Covenant at the forefront of digital health.

  • Supports and promotes collaboration, cooperation and teamwork across departments.
  • Oversee IT systems supporting revenue cycle operations including billing, coding, claims processing, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Leads the strategy and management of the ambulatory Epic system, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals across all ambulatory and outpatient settings.
  • Directs patient access technology solutions including scheduling, registration, eligibility verification, and pre-authorization systems to optimize the patient intake experience and reduce barriers to care.
  • Drives patient engagement technology platforms supporting patient communication, portal utilization, appointment reminders, and care coordination to improve the overall patient experience.
