About The Position

The Information Technology (IT) Lead serves as the data and analytics expert, using the power of data and insights to help leaders and teams at Midtown Health Center (MHC) solve problems and make data-driven decisions. This position is also responsible and accountable for the oversite of information technology (IT) systems, contracts, and vendors of all information systems for the agency.

Requirements

  • Ability to comply with all occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA).
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking and problem solving skills to address clinic’s needs.
  • Ability to interpret oral and written instructions and do appropriate follow-up.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Must have exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to constructively participate in quality improvement efforts.
  • Ability to actively participate in marketing and outreach activities when requested and emergency response events when required.
  • Must have strong technical skills and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Must have knowledge and expertise to approve technology vendors and service agreements.
  • Ability to teach individuals at all IT literacy levels how to operate telehealth technology and equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer or technology-related field preferred. An associate’s degree in a directly related field, plus two years of related experience will be considered.
  • Three or more years of IT work experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to utilize own transportation for work purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a health care clinic preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and written skills highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as liaison between Computer Information Tech(s) and Manager to address day-to-day questions and issues.
  • Stays current with emerging technologies that can improve IT department performance and increase agency efficiency, security, productivity and/or quality.
  • Works at the direction of executive leadership to best utilize existing Electronic Health Record data to create consumable tools and dashboards for monitoring agency growth, opportunities for quality or safety improvements, and targeted program development.
  • Performs analysis using a variety of quantitative methods, identifying and extracting key insights and trends.
  • Creates analytics products for leaders using multiple methods and tools (Excel, PowerPoint, NextGen, Dentrix, Tableau, ADP.).
  • Communicates findings and key insights to leaders.
  • Ensures data quality, governance, and standards are met.
  • Leads, designs and prepares specific data sets and reports; works with individuals or teams to provide supporting data for analysis.
  • Analyzes historical data and information to monitor practice patterns and operational performance for departments and service lines, including cost benefit analyses when appropriate.
  • Monitors performance of IT systems to determine increased needs, cost effectiveness, and productivity levels, and makes recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
  • Ensures procurement and support of IT for MHC which includes but is not limited to overseeing contract negotiations and procurement processes with IT vendors, contractors and service providers.
  • Designs, implements, and ensures efficient maintenance of MHC IT systems.
  • Leads IT projects and assures appropriate design and deployment of new IT systems and services.
  • Works with staff as assigned to develop policies and procedures related to the IT needs and use for MHC, its patients, and employees.
  • Provides planning, direction, leadership, and advanced expertise in the operations of complex computer systems.
  • Coordinates on-the-job training for employees for IT systems based on staff position and need.
  • Maintains effective communication with organizational staff related to system changes and updates.
  • Assists with program budget development, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Serves as the Security Officer and works closely with the Privacy Officer to ensure that MHC is HIPAA compliant and the health records and electronic resources of the agency are kept secure from external threats.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
