We are seeking highly motivated, forward-thinking individuals to join and add value to our Security team. If you are seeking to gain experience and exposure in the cyber security field and general business, this position provides the perfect opportunity! As an IT Intern–Software Engineer, you will be mentored by subject matter experts on responsibilities such as application design and development. You will participate in team initiatives and projects using Kanban agile methodology to help manage Jira’s, as well as maintaining team documentation. In this position, you will have the opportunity to thrive in a fast-pace, high-tech learning environment. Your existing problem solving, communication, and organizational skills will be expanded by learning a broad spectrum of technologies that will build a solid foundation for your career. You will evaluate leading-edge technologies and develop programs to support various products on TDS’ network. This remote internship has scheduling flexibility but has a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week. The hourly compensation for this internship is $19.00. This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

Requirements

  • Must be able to complete at least 20+ working hours between Monday - Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, programming, business or related fields
  • Two or more semesters of related technology coursework
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and React, with the ability to apply these technologies in hands-on development environments
  • Basic knowledge of Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) & SQL
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with development tools and environments including Linux (CLI/VM), Git repositories, Jenkins, Postman, IDEs, Windows & Linux OS, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge or exposure to tools such as TOX, Bandit, Sonar, Ansible, OpenShift, or Secret Server is a plus, but not required
