About The Position

Are you an IT infrastructure professional looking to join a supportive and collaborative team? The Weitz Company is hiring an IT Infrastructure Manager to oversee the company’s infrastructure systems including servers, storage, data protection, and virtualization environments. The Infrastructure Manager will be a hands-on leader who not only leads the infrastructure team but actively participates in technical work alongside the team. They will drive strategic planning, architecture design, and decision-making for infrastructure investments. The Weitz Company has been Building a Better Way since 1855. Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure required
  • Must have prior management experience
  • Experience with server administration, storage systems, virtualization platforms, data protection/backup solutions, and cloud technologies
  • Strong leadership skills with the desire to teach, mentor, and develop a team
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with management responsibilities
  • Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive experience for internal and external system users
  • Ability to build relationships across the organization
  • Flexible and able to adapt to meet business needs
  • Comfortable making strategic infrastructure decisions
  • Ability to solve problems and think critically
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Team-oriented
  • Deep technical knowledge of server operating systems, virtualization technologies, storage area networks, backup and recovery solutions, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar) required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn additional specific job-related software upon hire
  • Must be able to work in the office 4 days per week – position allows the ability to work remote 1 day per week

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field highly preferred; an equivalent combination of technical training and certifications may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure systems
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership by actively participating in infrastructure projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and working alongside team members to accomplish technical objectives
  • Conduct architecture analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate infrastructure options
  • Design/implement infrastructure solutions to meet current and future business needs
  • Manage the infrastructure team to provide timely resolution of issues, resource allocation for projects, and operational support
  • Monitor system logs, performance metrics, and capacity trends
  • Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues and implement preventative measures to ensure system reliability and uptime
  • Oversee disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation for all infrastructure systems
  • Identify system/process inefficiencies, support requirements or enhancements, infrastructure upgrades, or other optimization opportunities
  • Develop, maintain, and foster relationships with vendors
  • Explain complex technical information in a way that other stakeholders can easily understand
  • Keep abreast of latest infrastructure technology trends and techniques; evaluate emerging technologies for potential business value; educate team members on findings
  • Perform routine monitoring, reporting, security, and auditing tasks to ensure compliance with licensing requirements and security standards
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability between infrastructure and other technology systems
  • Partner with IT management team to create department budget, conduct financial review and continuously evaluate existing system(s) feasibility given evolving business needs
