About The Position

Under the general direction of the AVP - Technology, oversees the troubleshooting of network access problems and implements approved network security policies and procedures. Ensures network (LAN/WAN, telecommunications, and voice) security access and protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. Oversees the analysis of information security systems and applications and recommends and develops security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss. Is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintaining, and troubleshooting firewalls, routers, switches, IDS/ IPS systems, web content filters, email spyware filters, system update servers, operating systems, related software, and any associated peripherals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field; 10 or more years in information technology related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook Email /Calendar and Internet Explorer software. Experience with credit union system preferred. Knowledge of all aspects of Technology including but not limited to SANS, Firewalls, Virtual Servers, Routers, Switches, IDS’s, IPS’s, Workstations, Virtual Devices, VPN Tunnels, and Security related devices.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, touch or feel and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb and balance. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Regularly required to listen and interpret information received through spoken words and sentences in person and by the phone and accessed via the computer. Regularly required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand both in person, on the phone and via the computer. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members. Credit Union services are to be promoted using the "member benefit-based approach".
  • Fully complies with the requirements of all Credit Union policies, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and OFAC Policies.
  • Is responsible for the employee selection, orientation, training, counseling, disciplining, performance evaluation, promotion and salary administration, and termination of employees under his/her supervision.
  • Is responsible for administering the personnel policies of the Credit Union to reflect equality, fairness, and concern for employees and in such a manner so as to generate an atmosphere conducive to the encouragement of good employer/employee relations.
  • Oversees the operations of the Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances (Firewalls). Manages the monitoring of all security logs, reviews of critical events and system health check reports. Reports any firewall attacks or policy violations.
  • Oversees the maintaining and monitoring of the Cisco Intrusion Detection Sensors and Intrusion Prevention Sensors used to monitor internal network traffic for security threats.
  • Oversees the maintaining and reviewing of Windows and 3rd Party software patching processes including approving and pushing out all necessary system updates.
  • Oversees the maintaining and reviewing of Group Policies, Antivirus Software and associated security updates on all workstations and servers.
  • Oversees the maintaining and reviewing of the Barracuda Web Content filter, to block inappropriate content and the Barracuda Spyware filter, to block spam for the email system.
  • Oversees the use of the Fortinet Security Monitoring, Analysis and Response System to aggregate events and logs from routers, switches, and firewall, IDS/IPS and network traffic.
  • Oversees the maintaining and reviewing of security for domain controllers and e-mail servers to include user access to the domain and appropriate file shares.
  • Assists in developing and implementing Disaster Recovery procedures to include annual testing practices.
  • Reviews any projects that involve the installation of new hardware and system software as related to Infrastructure.
  • Oversees the monitoring of resource usage of the security systems in order to identify potential problems and security risk.
  • Participates in project status meetings and regularly communicates appropriate information to upper management.
  • Required to provide 24 x 7 x 365 on call support for technology area.
  • Requires the flexibility to work diverse schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • May be assigned other tasks by appropriate senior management.
