An overview of this position entails…This position holds primary responsibility and accountability for IT's infrastructure services, staff, and technical platform. This position is also responsible for the daily operation, budget management, vendor management, continual improvement, and long-term planning for areas of responsibility. We’re seeking a hands-on IT Infrastructure Manager to lead the systems that keep our organization running—securely, reliably, and efficiently. This role is ideal for a working leader who enjoys both guiding a team and staying close to the technology that supports meaningful work. This position is offering a full-time typical Monday-Friday 9-5 with on call duty rotation. This position has an annual starting salary range of $101,920.00-$107,016.00. Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related field and six years of experience with at least two years of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Customer-Focused IT Leadership Serve as a primary advocate for infrastructure stability, performance, and reliability, ensuring IT systems meet or exceed organizational needs. Build and maintain strong relationships with all departments to understand recurring infrastructure issues and upcoming needs; proactively implement scalable solutions. Serve as an escalation point for complex or urgent issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication. Promote a culture of proactive system management, reliability, and security.
  • Team Oversight & Performance Management Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure staff, fostering accountability, learning, and operational excellence. Oversee daily operations of Infrastructure team, including work assignments, prioritization, system monitoring, service requests, maintenance schedules, and incident response. Assist team members in removing roadblocks, acquiring training, tools, and resources where needed. Provide technical guidance on system design, troubleshooting and solution implementation. Conduct regular 1:1s and coaching discussions with Infrastructure staff, recognizing achievements, identifying opportunities for growth, and facilitating individualized professional development plans.
  • Hands-On Technical Support and Projects Respond directly to service desk tickets alongside the team, ensuring timely, high-quality support and resolution. Provide remote and in-person support for staff across multiple locations. Work closely with Enterprise Applications to resolve application and connectivity issues related to infrastructure services. Configure, administer, maintain, and upgrade systems and processes in areas of responsibility. Administer user accounts, access permissions, and group policy. Work at the highest technical level to evaluate, influence, architect, design, configure, and implement often-complex solutions in areas of responsibility.
  • Operational Management & Continuous Improvement Oversee daily infrastructure operations, monitoring performance, availability, reliability, utilization, and capacity. Establish, track, and report infrastructure KPIs; identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve reliability, customer satisfaction, and business value. Oversee system lifecycle activities including procurement, onboarding, upgrades, release management, testing, documentation, and decommissioning. Provide technical review and approval for change management process. Define, refine, and enforce standard operating procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality infrastructure management. Perform process audits and automated system monitors/alerts to ensure workflow and procedures are working as expected and are sufficient for meeting changing business needs. Conduct risk assessments to identify and address vulnerabilities. Develop controls and solutions that mitigate risks. Participate in policy-writing, compliance reviews, and third-party audits; serve as primary contact for auditors regarding areas of responsibility. Contribute to setting long-term technology strategic direction and lifecycle management, including solution recommendations and roadmap development. Plan and manage designated operational budgets and licensing. Establish standards and manage acquisition of network/server equipment and cloud services; oversee negotiation, purchase, deployment, patch management/upgrades, and replacement/retirement of all equipment and services managed by the Infrastructure team. Manage infrastructure asset/license management and contract renewals (Microsoft, third-party, security certificates, etc.) Provide oversight and evaluate effectiveness of vendors and service providers. Contribute to IT security initiatives, ensuring compliance with policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Serve as key player on Incident Response team. May serve as lead investigator for incidents. Serve as member of IT Leadership to plan and execute projects that enhance IT services and end-user satisfaction. Work with Hilltop leadership to identify and prioritize use of Infrastructure resources to align with program and corporate objectives.
