About The Position

This role focuses on the IT infrastructure, specifically within Mainframe and Linux/Unix environments. The engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining these critical systems, ensuring their stability, performance, and security. The position requires a deep understanding of mainframe technologies or strong experience in AIX/Linux/Unix systems, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Experience with mainframe systems technologies, subsystems, and internals.
  • Strong experience in AIX/Linux/Unix systems.
  • Strong understanding of IBM mainframe z/OS operating system, control, structure, logic, and security.
  • Infrastructure management of AIX/Linux/Unix systems with enterprise storage systems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to find answers independently.
  • Experienced in problem determination, analysis, and resolution.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with other departments, agencies, and technical support staff.
  • Ability to document and explain problems.
  • Ability to complete team projects by coordinating team resources and working with other departments and the data center.
  • Ability to plan, manage time according to schedules, and provide status updates.
  • Ability to work with staff to quickly learn new technologies and resolve issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent communications skills (oral and written).

  • 20+ years of experience working as an infrastructure manager in a large-scale environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain mainframe systems technologies, subsystems, and internals.
  • Manage and maintain AIX/Linux/Unix systems.
  • Ensure strong understanding and application of IBM mainframe z/OS operating system, control, structure, logic, and security.
  • Perform infrastructure management of AIX/Linux/Unix systems with enterprise storage systems if mainframe experience is not present.
  • Be self-motivated, find answers independently, and excel in problem determination, analysis, and resolution.
  • Work effectively and communicate with other departments, agencies, and technical support staff.
  • Document and explain technical problems clearly.
  • Complete team projects by coordinating resources and collaborating with other departments and the data center.
  • Plan and manage time according to schedules, providing necessary status updates.
