About The Position

RQ Construction has an opening for an IT Help Desk Technician based in our Virginia Beach, VA office. This position serves as the primary resource for day-to-day technical support, assisting staff across company offices and active job sites. The role is centered on keeping the workforce running efficiently by diagnosing and resolving issues across hardware, software, and network systems while adhering to company and DoD cybersecurity requirements. Responsibilities include ticket queue management, equipment deployment and upkeep, new hire technology onboarding, and coordinating technology setup at both office and field locations. This position works closely with IT colleagues, project staff, and outside vendors to deliver consistent and secure technology support across the organization. RQ Construction was established in 1996 and has built a strong reputation in commercial and government Design-Build contracting across Southern California. The company now operates nationally with active projects spanning multiple states. RQ specializes in accelerated delivery of new commercial construction for public and private clients, with a significant portion of the project portfolio dedicated to the Department of Defense sector.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Three - five years of hands-on IT support experience, including troubleshooting hardware and software and managing devices in a corporate setting
  • Must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in construction, engineering, or design environments is a plus
