About The Position

The Field Service Engineer provides onsite and remote IT support while helping deliver acquisitions, greenfield and brownfield openings, remodels, expansions, relocations, hardware refreshes, and infrastructure integration projects. The contractor serves as the hands-on IT representative in the field and works with Operations, Construction, Facilities, vendors, service desk, networking, security, IT asset management, and project stakeholders to make each location operational, supportable, secure, and ready for day-one business.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant IT field services, infrastructure support, deployment, systems support, or multi-site technical support experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows 10/11 endpoints, Microsoft 365, printers, scanners, browsers, mobile devices, and common business peripherals.
  • Working knowledge of switches, wireless access points, firewalls, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN concepts, cabling, and ISP troubleshooting.
  • Experience installing, configuring, testing, and documenting technology in the field.
  • Ability to read and follow technical scopes, checklists, floor plans, wiring plans, and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to work directly with non-technical users and operational leaders.
  • Valid driver license, acceptable driving capability for business travel, and ability to lift or move technology equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass all onboarding, security, privacy, and system-access requirements required by the client and staffing/vendor relationship.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship (Either now or in the future).

Nice To Haves

  • Smartsheet or comparable project tracking experience, including schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, status updates, and reporting.
  • Matterport, 360-degree imaging, Ekahau, wireless survey, facility survey, or construction/remodel site assessment experience.
  • Meraki, Fortinet, Cisco, or comparable firewall, switching, and wireless experience.
  • Acquisition integration, new location opening, office relocation, infrastructure refresh, hardware rollout, or multi-site standardization experience.
  • Experience coordinating structured cabling, low-voltage vendors, ISP installations, equipment shipping, and onsite cutovers.
  • ITSM and remote management tool experience. ServiceNow, Ivanti, NinjaOne, or similar experience is useful.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft, Ekahau, or equivalent certifications are a plus, not a substitute for field execution.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, browsers, printers, scanners, mobile devices, touchscreens, kiosks, connectivity, user access, and peripheral issues onsite and remotely.
  • Install, configure, test, and validate workstations, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, phones, displays, network devices, and other shop technology before go-live.
  • Support firewalls, switches, wireless access points, ISP circuits, VLAN/connectivity troubleshooting, racks, UPS units, patching, and structured cabling coordination.
  • Perform detailed site readiness assessments, 360-degree or Matterport-style surveys, equipment inventories, closet/rack reviews, floor-plan documentation, and risk identification.
  • Track tasks, dependencies, milestones, blockers, equipment, travel, and closeout activity in Smartsheet or comparable project tools.
  • Maintain accurate checklists, ITSM notes, asset records, configurations, photos, sign-off evidence, implementation notes, and status updates.
  • Coordinate professionally with shop managers, operations leaders, vendors, and IT teams. Explain technical needs in clear, practical language and communicate delays or risks early.
