The IT Enterprise Project Manager is responsible for managing the development and execution of healthcare information technology demands and projects. This role ensures adherence to budget, schedule, scope, and business needs by utilizing established Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) processes and standards. The Project Manager establishes targets, benchmarks, and success criteria for project delivery, and manages projects from initiation to implementation. They work with IT Owners to effectively utilize all project resources, including people and equipment, throughout all project phases to achieve goals and objectives, and hold vendors accountable for meeting agreed-upon deliverables. The role involves developing project demands from initial ideas, capturing key information such as stakeholders, objectives, requirements, desired dates, milestones, budget estimates, and resource needs. It also includes capturing, eliminating, and monitoring risks throughout the approval lifecycle, documenting decisions, assumptions, issues, and actions taken, and monitoring demand approval progress. The Project Manager prepares and maintains comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, project plans, and financial records. They understand how to align and prioritize projects on a multi-year technology investment roadmap and collaborate with IT teams to ensure solution compliance with approved enterprise technical direction and architectural practices. Strategic project plans are developed, including objectives, requirements, scheduling, milestones, budget, resource, risk, and change management. Continuous tracking of deliverables to project objectives, active identification, mitigation, and tracking of potential risks, and management of mitigation plans are key. Changes in project scope, schedule, and budget are managed using established change control processes. The role may involve organizing site visits, creating site layouts, and determining equipment and infrastructure placement. Progress towards project milestones and deliverables is monitored and documented, with active evaluation of work quality. Project team members and stakeholders are led to identify and resolve problems using project management expertise and best practices. Expectations are set and managed with all stakeholders. A clear RACI matrix, escalation path are established, and team members are held accountable. Timely communication plans are executed to keep stakeholders informed of variances and deviations. Routine status reports and executive reports are produced, and regular status meetings are held. Daily work efforts are led, with duties and responsibilities assigned to team members. The Project Manager acts as a resource to teammates regarding demand subject matter or project management methodologies. Post-implementation evaluations and lessons learned sessions are conducted to assess project outcomes, ensure benefits and quality standards are met, and capture key insights. Lessons learned are contributed to the Organization’s Process Assets (OPA’s) and knowledge base. Changes into production are ensured to be accurate, complete, and well-planned, following all change guidelines. Contributions are made towards achieving department performance Key Responsibility Areas (KRA) goals. Documented processes, techniques, and tools within the demand and project management methodology are maintained. Changes are identified and implemented based on best practices to improve the methodology. The latest strategies and trends are kept abreast of, and changes are implemented to increase productivity as needed.
