The IT Director is responsible for leading and directing enterprise-wide IT strategy, operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and service delivery across multiple locations. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on operational oversight, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable IT systems that align with business goals. The position provides leadership for IT teams, establishes policies and standards, partners with executives, and ensures the integrity, security, and efficiency of the organization’s technology environment. Travel to multi-site operations as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or management roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise or multi-site IT operations.
  • Strategic planning and policy-setting experience within IT leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity tools, practices, and frameworks.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 administration and security.
  • Experience with Cisco and Fortinet networking and security devices.
  • Proficiency with endpoint management tools, including KACE.
  • Strong understanding of server infrastructure, virtualization, and enterprise systems.
  • Proven ability to lead complex IT projects.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Governance
  • Provide vision, direction, and leadership for IT systems, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align IT strategy with organizational objectives and growth plans.
  • Establish, implement, and enforce IT policies, practices, procedures, and standards with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Evaluate, develop, and recommend enterprise IT solutions to improve performance, security, and scalability.
  • IT Operations & Infrastructure
  • Direct and oversee day-to-day IT operations, including networks, servers, applications, databases, and end-user systems.
  • Manage multi-site IT operations to ensure consistency, reliability, and standardized practices.
  • Lead IT infrastructure planning, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
  • Oversee virtualization environments (VMware and/or Hyper-V) and server hardware configurations.
  • Cybersecurity & Risk Management
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity strategies, including threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Lead security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing initiatives; remediate identified risks.
  • Ensure alignment with recognized cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Promote a culture of security awareness through employee training and education programs.
  • Systems, Networks & Cloud Technologies
  • Oversee and secure the Microsoft Office 365 environment, including security and compliance configurations.
  • Administer and manage network and security solutions, with emphasis on Cisco and Fortinet technologies.
  • Ensure a secure, resilient, and scalable network architecture across all locations.
  • Endpoint & Service Management
  • Utilize the KACE Management System for device management, software deployment, patching, and asset management.
  • Ensure efficient IT service delivery and oversee IT help desk operations to support employees.
  • People Leadership & Culture
  • Lead, develop, and mentor IT managers and staff; provide performance management and professional development.
  • Build a high-performing, collaborative IT team aligned with company values and culture.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal customers and stakeholders.
