About The Position

Responsible for design, development, administration, and continuous improvement of our enterprise platform, ServiceNow. This role involves extensive customization and configuration of ServiceNow, including scripting, workflow administration, workspace configuration, report setup, module configuration, data imports, and third-party software integration. The developer will also contribute to custom portal pages, modules, API and software integrations, customized web pages, and User Interface policies and scripts. Key responsibilities include developing creative technical solutions, providing detailed specifications, developing and testing various ServiceNow components (Client Scripts, Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, ACLs, forms, workflows, Service Portal widgets), and collaborating with application teams for data interfaces. The role also entails ensuring platform operation and configuration through testing, developing and testing data integrations via API calls, administering the application (installation, upgrading, configuration, operation, maintenance), designing and developing custom scoped applications, documenting operational best practices, automating email processing, researching and implementing new tools, functioning as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), managing ServiceNow On-Call Schedules, maintaining and improving CMDB data accuracy, ensuring platform compliance with security policies, implementing role-based access controls, supporting audits and compliance reporting, supporting ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request Management), collaborating with process owners to enhance workflows, and mentoring junior developers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer and Information Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a developer-related occupation
  • JavaScript
  • UI, SQL, HTML, and CSS
  • XML and structural programming concepts
  • Application Programming Interfaces for integration such as REST API and SOAP API
  • Asset and configuration management
  • ITIL and ITSM processes
  • Oversee and implement integrations with external tools including SAP, SailPoint, Twilio, MS Teams, SharePoint, and custom enterprise applications
  • Support Robotics Process Automation integrations
  • Enhance UI/UX using Jelly, Angular, or Bootstrap
  • Agile development frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Mid Server communication, security, and troubleshooting
  • Implement and maintain ServiceNow integrations with REST, SOAP, OAuth, JDBC, JSON, Python, and Perl

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, administration, and continuous improvement of the enterprise platform, ServiceNow
  • ServiceNow customization and configuration including scripting, workflow administration, workspace configuration, report setup, module configuration, data imports and third-party software integration
  • Development efforts including custom portal pages, modules, API and software integrations, customized web pages, User interface policies and scripts
  • Develop and design creative ServiceNow technical solutions to complex problems and provide detailed specifications for those proposed solutions
  • Develop, test and implement Client Scripts, Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, and ACLs including advanced scripting of each, forms workflows, and custom Service Portal widgets
  • Collaborate with application teams to design and implement data interfaces with other enterprise application systems
  • Ensure proper operation and configuration of the platform through testing and validation
  • Develop, test, and implement data integrations via API calls to various other technologies within our Platform environment
  • Administration of the application, including but not limited to, installation/upgrading, configuration, operation, and maintenance
  • Design and develop custom scoped applications on the ServiceNow platform to meet business requirements
  • Develop and document operational best practices for the platform
  • Automate the processing of inbound emails by implementing email injection and enabling the handling and parsing of emails for actionable workflows
  • Advance the maturity of the environment by researching and implementing new tools and technologies
  • Function as the Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the application layer of our ServiceNow platform
  • Manage ServiceNow On-Call Schedules, including configuring escalation paths, rotation groups, and notification rules to ensure seamless 24/7 incident response coverage
  • Maintain and improve CMDB data accuracy by auditing Configuration Items (CIs), validating relationships, and aligning records with ITIL best practices to support change and incident management
  • Ensure platform configurations and customizations comply with organizational security policies and standards
  • Implement role-based access controls and manage user permissions
  • Support audits and compliance reporting related to ServiceNow usage
  • Support ITIL processes within ServiceNow including Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management
  • Collaborate with process owners to enhance workflows and ensure alignment with business needs
  • Mentor less senior ServiceNow developers and administrators
