About The Position

The IT Deployment Specialist Intern will be responsible for a variety of IT support tasks, with a primary focus on managing and executing hardware refresh cycles and system imaging processes. This role is crucial for ensuring employees have the reliable and up-to-date technology they need to be successful.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in school and pursuing Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of PC hardware components and a passion for hands-on work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift computer equipment, which may weigh up to 40lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant coursework or personal projects related to computer hardware or systems administration is a plus.
  • No professional experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end hardware lifecycle, including deployment, and decommissioning of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Coordinate with various departments to schedule and execute hardware refresh projects with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware assets.
  • Utilize imaging and deployment tools (SCCM, Intune) to efficiently deploy new systems and re-image existing ones.
  • Ensure all imaged systems are configured with the necessary software, security updates, and policies before deployment.
  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users for hardware and software issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, network connectivity, and enterprise applications.
  • Document all support activities and resolutions in our IT service management system.
