IT Data Engineer II
About The Position

As part of Mosaic Health, the organization delivers coordinated, patient-centered care and partners with health plans, providers, and community organizations to improve population health. The IT Data Engineer II builds and maintains data pipelines, transformations, and integrations that move data across organizational systems and into the enterprise data platform. The role handles structured data engineering tasks with developing independence and contributes to reliable, high-quality data assets. It works under general direction on defined workstreams, with decisions affecting team- and project-level outcomes. The engineer develops applied expertise in data engineering tools and practices, contributes to data platform delivery, and escalates complex design or data-quality issues to senior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes that extract, transform, and load data from source systems into the data platform.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and consumption-layer development.
- Support data model development and contribute to logical and physical schema design.
- Monitor pipeline health and data quality, investigate failures, and resolve issues.
- Contribute to data documentation, including pipeline metadata, data dictionaries, and lineage records.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to adopting engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with analytics and business systems teams to understand data requirements and deliver aligned solutions.
