About The Position

The IT co-op/intern, under supervision, will be responsible for providing IT support starting with training and entry-level work to support the Aerospace Dynamics International Inc. facility. Over the course of the internship, the IT co-op/intern will be able to provide end-users support of hardware, software and networking, as well as preparing documentation of processes and system administration.

Nice To Haves

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility to provide IT support to end users.
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to operate computers, tools, and other IT equipment.
  • May be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, or work in confined areas when installing, troubleshooting, or maintaining computer and network equipment.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, including computers, monitors, printers, and related IT equipment.
  • Must have sufficient visual ability to work with computer screens, equipment, cables, and other electronic components.
  • Work is performed in both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • The position may require movement throughout various areas of the facility to install, troubleshoot, or maintain IT equipment.
  • May occasionally be exposed to noise, machinery, production activity, and other conditions typical of an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • May be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering designated manufacturing or production areas.

Responsibilities

  • Apply principles learned in school to hands-on situations
  • Under supervision, request, configure and install workstations, printers, cell phones and related components
  • Learn, help maintain and update IT asset inventory, including addition and decommissioning of assets
  • Assist in organization of decommissioning and disposal of assets
  • Research spare parts and create requisitions to maintain proper inventory levels and for end-user support
  • Learn and help set up, maintain, and repair user accounts and computers on various systems ranging from Active Directory to enterprise business systems in accordance with all IT procedures and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Seek manager’s input on any situations that are unclear.
  • Assist with server patches and other required security vulnerabilities
  • Create documentation of common processes
  • Perform other duties as necessary or appropriate to the position
