About The Position

The IT Cloud Engineer – Engineering Platform Automation designs, develops, operates, and continually evolves Mayo Clinic’s Engineering Front Door, a cloud-native digital platform supporting engineering self-service, cloud governance automation, AI-assisted guidance, reusable knowledge management, and workflow orchestration across a hybrid multi-cloud environment. The role serves as the platform’s technical product owner and lead engineer, partnering with the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), Cloud Platform Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, ServiceNow teams, Security, Product Management, and business stakeholders. The engineer leads development and ongoing evolution of cloud governance automation, engineering request management, ServiceNow Employee Center Pro and EmployeeWorks, knowledge automation, workflow orchestration, and Agentic AI capabilities. The role is responsible for ensuring the platform is scalable, maintainable, secure, reliable, and aligned with Mayo Clinic’s engineering strategy. It also develops integrations, enables self-service access to approved cloud capabilities, documents reusable engineering practices, and uses analytics and customer feedback to improve platform outcomes. Success is measured by adoption of the Engineering Front Door as the preferred entry point for engineering services and cloud requests; intelligent routing and automation of requests and governance activities; increased use of self-service and reusable cloud products; useful AI-assisted guidance; and the conversion of governance decisions into trusted, reusable engineering knowledge. The platform should improve engineering productivity, consistency, transparency, and operational efficiency.
