About The Position

Business Analysts at Abercrombie & Fitch collaborate on and co-create features and enhancements to applications together with our product team, business stakeholders, experience design, and developers. It’s our job to simplify the complexity of new ideas so that teams can prioritize and execute toward a unified vision of the product's goal. As a key member of Digital Operations, your ability to understand and convey the big picture and break down the finer details of a new feature will enable and lead effective product delivery for our customers and peers across the constraints of scope, schedule, cost, and quality from concept to hand-off. Within the Digital & Stores portfolio, you will work on initiatives that introduce new and innovative ways to enhance and expand our customers' seamless access to our products wherever they may be, whether it's In-Store, on our eCommerce sites, or through our Native Apps. The customer-centric nature of the portfolio is dynamic and fast-paced, and you will work closely with a cross-functional team of individuals who share a passion for digital experiences to deliver real business value every day for all our brands, globally.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of retail and/or ecommerce and omnichannel operations.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to tailor complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A practical approach to the day-to-day with superb planning and organizational skills; capable of preparing for and rapidly adapting to change.
  • An interest in teaching others; sharing your experiences and knowledge with teammates.
  • Experience working within Agile product delivery teams, including backlog management, refinement, iterative delivery, and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members within, and outside of, your squad to collectively understand the as-is situation and articulate the product vision – you are the liaison that connects a team of business stakeholders, user experience designers, developers, quality engineers, project managers, and scrum masters to manage a product backlog for continued software delivery, and one of the first people called upon to help troubleshoot blockers for the team.
  • Participate in workshops with your squad to help brainstorm and determine what the next best opportunity is for a given objective, and how best to achieve that opportunity and measure success.
  • Partner with the Product Manager to strategize and advise opportunities to prioritize the backlog in a way that mitigates risk and optimizes the value delivered by the team.
  • Facilitate and lead the team through refinement and discovery sessions to create the artifacts (epics, user stories, etc.) that navigate the path to the desired future state in a manner that delivers incremental value along the way.
  • Create and present diagrams/visuals (process flows, story maps) to accelerate the understanding, clarity, and alignment of the team and other impacted parties.
  • Compose features and user stories that capture the purpose and value of a change with well-defined acceptance criteria to ensure fulfillment.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to accelerate requirements discovery, refine user stories, improve documentation quality, and uncover insights that enable more effective and efficient product delivery.
  • Partner with other Business Analysts within the portfolio to learn, share ideas, uncover risks/dependencies across the portfolio, and innovate new ways to deliver solutions more effectively.
  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new hires and/or BA contractors.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and enhancement of BA best practices and documented materials.
