About The Position

HunaTek is seeking an IT Auditor to fill a full-time position on a customer site in Rosslyn, VA. This role involves planning and executing audits and evaluations of domestic and overseas programs, analyzing systems and operations, and making recommendations for improvements. The IT Auditor will develop technically sound audit findings supported by evidentiary data, prepare briefing materials, and present findings to management. Responsibilities also include performing control assessments of systems in compliance with federal standards, conducting vulnerability and compliance scanning, and analyzing results. The role may involve administrative support duties, special projects, and serving as a lead on projects. The IT Auditor will determine audit objectives, scope, and steps, and conduct audits by gathering and analyzing data to formulate findings.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience conducting IT audits in compliance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards including documentation requirements, report writing requirements, and professional standards.
  • Specialized knowledge of information system controls, information technology concepts, policies, procedures, and tools necessary to audit complex interconnected information systems.
  • Knowledge of FISMA.
  • Experience performing control assessments of systems in compliance with federal standards.
  • Experience performing vulnerability and compliance scanning and analyzing results to identify trends, root cause, and effect.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize urgent tasks.
  • Secret clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • A relevant certification (e.g., CISA, CISSP, FITSP etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience in conducting FISMA audits is preferred.
  • Experience with Tenable Nessus is preferred.
  • Experience training junior auditors is preferred.
  • Experience working as a lead auditor/ auditor-in-charge is preferred.
  • Experience using TeamMate audit software to document workpapers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute audits and evaluations of both domestic and overseas programs, activities, and functions within the Department.
  • Analyze various programs, systems, and operations and make recommendations for more effective and efficient solutions.
  • Develop audit findings supported by evidentiary data that are technically sound, reasonable, and meet OIG and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.
  • Prepare meeting notes and briefing materials.
  • Give written and oral briefings and presentations to OIG management on progress of assignments.
  • Perform control assessments of systems in compliance with federal standards.
  • Perform vulnerability and compliance scanning and analyzing results to identify trends, root cause, and effect.
  • Perform other administrative support duties, special projects, and assignments at the direction of the IT Audits Division Director on an as needed basis.
  • Work on a team and potentially serve as a lead on projects if needed.
  • Determine the objectives, scope, and steps needed to complete each assignment.
  • Conduct assigned performance audits and evaluations by gathering, assembling, and analyzing data to formulate findings that satisfy the audit objectives.
