BDO is seeking an IT Audit Consultant to support IT Security, Internal Controls, Audit, and Business Process Improvement efforts for federal government agencies. This role involves performing verification and validation of corrective action plans, and testing the design of system security controls. The consultant will identify appropriate information systems test of operating effectiveness testing and provide insight into potential information systems risks while testing information system security. They will also participate in walkthrough meetings, taking detailed notes and identifying and documenting controls, and assist in performing audit work for specific information systems. The consultant will support the project lead by providing knowledge to help plan the information systems portion of the engagement, including security control scope. This position requires delivering a full range of services that use educational background, experience, and organizational skills while serving BDO’s dynamic public sector client base. The role demands adaptability to a changing client environment while meeting client expectations, effective management of priorities, and flexible multi-task coordination. The consultant will provide summary recommendations to team leadership regarding assigned work streams, apply fundamental industry knowledge and standards, and communicate and maintain relationships with key client personnel. Preparation of presentations, briefings, and active participation in client meetings are also key aspects of this role. Communication with team management through effective status reporting and demonstration of ownership and accountability for assigned task areas and work products are expected. Establishing professional rapport with clients and other organizations, and reviewing work products for technical accuracy, deliverable quality, and overall value to the client are also required. Attending relevant training, seminars, and/or conferences to stay current with technical skills is necessary. Additionally, supporting recruiting efforts by identifying potential candidates and participating in interviews is part of the role. Other duties as required.
