About The Position

Essent Group Ltd. is seeking an IT Associate Cloud Development for a 12 to 18-month training and development program. This individual contributor role, operating under supervision, is designed to provide broad experience across various IT facets through rotational experiences and formal mentorship. Participants will gain exposure to different IT roles and disciplines, with a focus on developing skills in areas such as Front End Development, Back End Development, Data/Analytics/Machine Learning, and Change Management/Test Automation. The program aims to place participants in a role based on their skills and affinity after the training period.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or related field
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft applications such as Word and Outlook.
  • Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Team player open to learning new skills
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • AWS Developer training
  • AWS Developer certification, as required by management
  • AWS Cloud Fundamentals training
  • Cloud GURU/Pluralsight training as required by management
  • Foundational knowledge of Java programming and object-oriented concepts
  • Other training as required for the disciplines assigned to
  • Other certifications as required by management

Responsibilities

  • Observe and learn from experienced IT team members
  • Perform assigned projects and responsibilities throughout the various information technology departments
  • Assist with and handle technical support issues that arise within your assigned rotational area
  • Under direction of your IT trainer, troubleshoot hardware and/or software issues
  • Aid team members and managers as needed
  • Maintain and apply current knowledge of IT system modifications, development of new software programs or services and other pertinent changes
  • Acts in the place of an absent employee if necessary
  • Engages in assigned training projects to gain an understanding of the disciplines within the Information Technology Department and different job functions
  • Achieve required certifications
  • Actively participates in trainee development meetings and/or conferences
  • As the need arises, the candidate can be assigned to special or ongoing projects
  • Develop POCs (Proof of Concepts) and solutions utilizing Cloud principles and tools
  • Research and keep up to date on evolving technology, best practices and tools
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
