Austin Industries has an outstanding opportunity for an IT Asset Specialist at our corporate headquarters in Uptown Dallas, Texas. The IT Asset Solutions Specialist is a member of the Asset Solutions team and will be responsible for overseeing jobsite IT operations, help desk services, IT procurement and computer applications. This role will help define a comprehensive strategy to deliver all aspects of IT services to our employee-owners with security being the foundational component of all solutions.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer technology, information systems, or related field preferred
  • 5 – 8 years of experience in IT asset management, procurement, or a related technical role
  • Strong working knowledge of: IT asset management best practices Ticketing systems Vendor management Cost controls and invoicing processes Microsoft Intune and device lifecycle workflows
  • Familiarity with IT hardware, software licensing, warranties, and inventory management concepts
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve real-world technology challenges
  • Value-minded, resourceful, and capable of making sound judgment calls
  • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, customer services, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Asset Management, Ticketing Systems, Vendor Management, Cost Controls, Invoicing & Microsoft Intune
  • This role will travel about 10% locally and across the US to job sites or Operation Groups on an as-needed basis.
  • Travel for training or additional certification may be required on occasions.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase and manage hardware, software, and IT services in accordance with company standards and budgeting guidelines
  • Assign and allocate computers and peripherals for: New hires Employee Owner (EO) upgrades PC giveaways and special programs
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively order stock items such as: Computers, Monitors, Docking Stations, Power Supplies, Laptop Bags and Accessories.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new and alternative technology products to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Package, ship, and coordinate delivery of equipment to job sites and operational groups
  • Process invoices, Emburse charges, and purchase documentation
  • Determine appropriate cost allocations, track purchases, and maintain records to support accounting and audit processes
  • Coordinate asset support across all Austin Industries entities including: ABR, ACLP, ACS, INDL and Jobsites
  • Maintain accurate asset records using asset management and reporting tools
  • Receive and log new equipment into the ticketing and asset management systems
  • Manage the full asset lifecycle, including: Deployment Monitoring Reclamation Repair Disposal
  • Oversee asset reclamation for: Employee Owner separations Hardware upgrades Loaner devices
  • Manage equipment disposal, ensuring data security, environmental compliance, and proper documentation
  • Place and manage Dell warranty service calls (Depot Repair) on covered devices
  • Communicate with Employee Owners to ensure smooth purchasing, renewals, and equipment transitions
  • Monthly reports for business and tax department
  • Provide timely updates and clear guidance regarding asset availability and order status
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers
  • Coordinate with onsite and virtual vendors for procurement, repairs, and lifecycle services
  • Deliver high-quality customer service while balancing cost controls and operational efficiency
  • Additional duties as assigned
