About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking an IT Asset Management Specialist to join their team in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is responsible for the end-to-end execution of inventory management, asset lifecycles, and equipment movement processes. The specialist will act as a central point of coordination between IT, vendors, remote industrial locations, customers, and technicians, ensuring technology needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively while adhering to operational standards. This position reports directly to the Operations Support Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED Equivalent plus 2 years of secondary education or equivalent work/military experience.
  • Minimum 1+ years of related experience in inventory or asset management required.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace Suite.
  • Experience entering requisitions, receipts, or invoices.
  • Excellent customer service, negotiation, mathematical, and analytical skills.
  • Must be highly organized, capable of working independently or cross-functionally, and cost-conscious to conserve organizational resources.
  • Must pass required safety courses and strictly comply with OSHA, TWIC, and site-specific guidelines.
  • Must maintain a current, valid Louisiana Driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical support experience (Helpdesk) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets including receipt, asset tagging, deployment, tracking, inventory management, and retirement/disposal.
  • Coordinate with hardware vendors and the purchasing department to obtain quotes, manage purchase requests, and resolve delivery issues.
  • Review and apply inventory activities, track invoices, and ensure receiving and payment processes are accurate to support audit readiness and cost transparency.
  • Address users in a friendly and professional manner, evaluating and prioritizing incoming requests.
  • Document all inventory data, calls, emails, and project tasks within the service desk application.
  • Backup for general call queue when needed.
  • Coordinate hardware collection upon employee separation to reduce asset loss and control replacement spend.
  • Manage the ordering, provisioning, and tracking of corporate mobile devices (iPads).
  • Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for highly efficient inventory management.
  • Maintain readiness by keeping sufficient inventory levels to support new hires and ongoing operations.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
