About The Position

As an IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst you will be asked to assist with planning, creating, tracking, and managing Ankura’s hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle—from inception to procurement and then disposal—to ensure that the company’s IT assets align with its business goals, all while remaining compliant with regulations and internal policies. A key responsibility is to maintain accurate inventory databases (CMDB), assist with managing vendor contracts, audit assets, and coordinate deployments to support IT efficiency. Another key aspect of the role is to ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and other legal requirements. This is a hybrid role based in New York, Nashville, Chicago, or Washington, D.C.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of IT asset management tools (e.g., SAM (Software Asset Management), HAM (Hardware Asset Management). AD Manager, Endpoint Central (EPC), or Service Desk Plus) and CMDB systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities and manage inventory.
  • Communication: Cross-functional collaboration across multiple departments (IT, Finance, Legal and People Office), strong attention to detail, and an ability to maintain focus on data quality.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills to manage, tag, and track large quantities of equipment.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in ITAM, SAM (Software Asset Management), or HAM (Hardware Asset Management).
  • Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to move or lift equipment (e.g., up to 25-50 lbs.) for receiving or auditing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Asset Tracking: Maintain comprehensive inventory records of Ankura’s hardware and software, ensuring proper classification and metadata association.
  • Lifecycle Management: Assist with the lifecycle of Ankura’s IT assets, including planning, acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for savings through Ankura’s software reclamation, hardware refreshes, and vendor negotiations.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Take ownership to create, maintain, and update comprehensive, accurate records of all of Ankura’s End Using Computing IT hardware and software assets.
  • License Compliance & Auditing: Monitor Ankura’s software license usage, conduct audits to prevent unauthorized software, and ensure compliance with vendor contracts.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management: Assist with purchasing, track vendor contracts, and manage Ankura’s relationships to maximize value.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate reports for management regarding asset utilization, costs, and lifecycles to aid in decision-making.
  • Support & Logistics: Coordinate hardware deployments with all Ankura IT Depots (globally), assist with software deployments, and manage Ankura’s asset disposal/recycling initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Assist with developing and maintaining Ankura’s ITAM policies, procedures, and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Support: Serve as a point of contact for Ankura’s IT procurement, technical teams, and internal customers regarding asset status.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with Ankura’s vendors on purchasing, support renewals, and invoice processing.
