NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service. DOF’s Finance Information Technology (FIT) Division designs, builds, and supports all facets of DOF’s computer systems, including hardware, software, applications, infrastructure, telephone, and data security. FIT delivers and administers tax-related payment programs for the City of New York by providing the information technology solutions needed to achieve its mission of collecting revenue while ensuring an efficient and improved customer experience. FIT is also responsible for the systems and websites which enable citywide payments, land records, property assessment, parking adjudications, customer service, and the Sheriff’s public safety work. The FIT-IT Service Management-Asset Management team supports approximately 2,100+ employees and consultants across 10 locations in the five boroughs of New York City. The IT Asset Management Analyst is responsible for keeping an accurate and up-to-date inventory of DOF's hardware and software assets throughout their entire lifecycle. This includes recording, tracking, monitoring, and auditing assets to reduce waste, meet licensing and procurement rules, and make the best use of resources. The analyst gathers and reviews asset data, works with the IT Asset Management Supervisor, procurement team and other groups to provide useful information for decisions on buying IT items, move assets within the agency, and plan renewals. This work helps avoid unnecessary spending, get the most value from current IT resources, improve efficiency, and support clear understanding of the agency's assets for smooth daily operations. This role supports DOF's mission by helping manage IT resources effectively and cost-efficiently.
