About The Position

Responsible for managing and maintaining the lifecycle information, status, and compliance of IT hardware and software assets. Defines and implements the asset tracking and configuration management processes, policies, and procedures. Build, maintain, and regularly update the company’s hardware and software inventory. Responsible for building a comprehensive asset management strategy for the organization. Develop and maintain IT asset management procedures and guidelines to ensure adherence to ITIL best practices.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in computer systems, with at least three (3) years of experience in IT asset management (ITAM).
  • Working knowledge of software licensing agreements.
  • Experience using and configuring IT asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems, or other analytical tools for asset tracking and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation to support IT asset management activities:
  • Hardware: includes employee workstations, servers, mobile devices, and other hardware components.
  • Software: manage software tools used by employees, cloud infrastructure, and other digital systems.
  • Evaluate asset requirements, coordinate acquisitions, and build a comprehensive asset management strategy: This strategy considers organizational goals, risks, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement policies for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of assets throughout the organization.
  • Maintain asset records within our IT asset management database.
  • Analyze stock items and identify required stock levels to support business needs.
  • Assess compliance with established IT asset policies and procedures.
  • Track software licenses, warranties, maintenance agreements, and vendor contracts, in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic audits to evaluate IT asset data accuracy.
  • Investigate and recommend corrective measures to resolve data accuracy issues.
  • Generate reports on cost, spending, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contracts to support purchasing decisions.
  • Provide training on asset management procedures and tools.
  • Investigate opportunities to allocate IT assets more efficiently.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of IT asset management activities and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop purchasing recommendations that support business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Support request fulfillment, purchasing, receiving, and deployment of hardware and software.
