We are seeking a skilled and motivated software developer with experience in C#, ASP.NET MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, database design, and reporting. In this position your work will directly support the Intelligence Division in managing, processing, and dissemination of Intel. You will help design, enhance, and maintain the software programs used to research active threats to the community, share vital Intel with partner agencies and review suspicious activity reported by the public. Requirements

  • Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, computer engineering, or management information systems with experience in programming.
  • Experience or training in designing web and desktop applications using C#.NET or VB.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, Microsoft SQL Server software development, database reporting, and object-oriented programming.
  • Knowledge in SQL stored procedures and SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Skills in communication, practicing active listening, creating documentation and the ability to problem solve.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in the full range of software development activities, including assisting with requirements gathering, analysis and definition, functional and technical design, coding and testing, consulting with users on application issues and providing user support.
  • Develop MVC application back-end and supporting tasks and services using C#
  • Develop application front-end using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Develop integrations to gather Intel from other State Patrol and partnered agency sources
  • Test applications, lead users in testing, debug and resolve reported issues
  • Create technical documents and user manuals
  • Create SQL database queries, views, functions, stored procedures, and scripts and revise existing database structures
  • Develop and maintain reports using relational data database querying techniques
  • Keep clear lines of communication with supervisor, peers, staff, and personnel within the State Patrol
  • Review and incorporate best practices including object-oriented design, sensitive data security and State of Nebraska standards
