About The Position

EY is seeking an IT Advisor specializing in Big Data Architecture at the Senior Manager level. This role involves collaborating and providing technical guidance on pre-sales/sales initiatives, assisting clients in modernizing systems and platforms using technologies like Microservices, Cloud, Omni channel integration, API Management, and open-source technologies. The position requires managing Big Data projects, identifying future sales opportunities, supporting practice development, and delivering high-quality client services by managing engagement progress, status, and staff performance. The Senior Manager will lead diverse teams, provide constructive feedback, develop client relationships, and manage delivery risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, or a related field and at least 8 years of work experience (5 years must be progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience). Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, or related field and at least 7 years of work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Strategic Big Data initiatives, focused in financial services.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience architecting Big Data applications using a minimum of 3 of the following Hadoop technologies: Spark, MapReduce, YARN, HDFS, Hive, Impala, Oozie, HBase, Elasticsearch, and/or Cassandra.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with Business Intelligence teams, Data Integration developers, Data Scientists, and Analysts and DBA’s to deliver well-architected and scalable Big Data & Analytics eco-system.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Event stream processing technologies including Spark streaming, Storm, Akka, Kafka, and/or similar.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with at least one programming language (Java, Scala, or Python).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with at least one major Hadoop platform (Cloudera, Hortonworks, or MapR).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with at least one Next Gen database (distributed, graph, or NoSql).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with SQL and scripting languages (including Python and R).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Big data design patterns.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Agile delivery methodology.
  • Requires domestic and regional travel up to 80% to serve client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate, contribute and provide technical guidance to various pre-sales/sales client and account focused initiatives.
  • Support clients in modernizing systems, processes and products to enhance business and customer-facing platforms and services.
  • Leverage Microservices, Cloud, Omni channel integration, API Management and open source technologies to enable end to end automation with safe and sound architecture at optimum cost.
  • Manage Big Data projects and elements of multiple client engagements.
  • Identify future sales opportunities and support practice development activities in the Digital Transformation practice.
  • Provide high quality client services by directing daily progress of engagement work, informing engagement manager of engagement status, and managing staff performance.
  • Lead and direct teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds by providing constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members.
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks.
  • Manage risk in the delivery of quality client services.
