About The Position

Empower AI is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join the ISSO Group and manage security and Information Assurance (IA) compliance for customer IT environments supporting the Department of State's (DoS) mission to provide IT services to DoS users enterprise-wide. This role involves documenting and maintaining security artifacts, supporting security tests, cooperating with DoS audits and assessments, and assisting with the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process, POA&M management, and remediation efforts. The analyst will also be responsible for maintaining standard configurations, managing security compliance using Group Policy Objects (GPO), and supporting network enclaving and segregation.

Requirements

5+ years of experience
Bachelor's in IT or related field
Security+ (DoD 8570 IAT II min.) certification
Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

CISSP certification
ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s)

Responsibilities

Document and maintain security diagrams, plans, procedures, policies, logs, and reports.
Provide support for security tests to validate that required controls are properly implemented and effective.
Fully cooperate with DoS audits, reviews, evaluations, tests, and assessments of contractor systems, processes, and facilities.
Assist in supporting the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.
Assist in supporting POA&M findings.
Assist in developing and implementing remediation as assigned by the USG ISSO.
Provide POA&M status reporting.
Support the identification, remediation, tracking, management, and validation of findings from sources outside the A&A process.
Maintain standard configurations in compliance with DoS security standards.
Manage security compliance using Group Policy Objects (GPO).
Support network enclaving and segregation.
