About The Position

The IS Technician I is responsible for the installation, configuration, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers, mobile devices, printers, and related equipment. This role involves installing and maintaining software and hardware, upgrading, repairing, and replacing computer-related equipment. The technician will also provide training and instruction to personal computer users, achieve departmental goals and metrics, communicate feedback on workflows and policies, and serve as a subject matter expert in assigned functional areas. Additionally, the role includes performing high-level administrative functions for regulatory compliance and reporting, assisting supervisors with general responsibilities, purchasing computer-related equipment, and assisting computer users with issue resolution. The position may also involve assisting in the planning, installation, and maintenance of local and wide area networks.

Requirements

  • Possesses work-related skills at a higher level than completion of high school, including formal written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills, mathematical, technical or health care related knowledge frequently acquired through completion of a trade school, para-professional, or certificate type program.
  • Job duties require specific knowledge and training in computer systems and repairs or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to prepare more complex documents in Microsoft Word, including creating tables, charts, graphs and other elements.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel to review and compile data, including the use of formulas, functions, lookup tables and other standard spreadsheet elements.
  • Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and car insurance is required.
  • Job duties require the compilation of information prepared in effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles or other documentation.
  • Effectively conveys technical information to non-technical audiences.
