This job guides the technical direction of information security applications and solutions, ensuring alignment with the business strategy. Designs, develops, and implements solutions to business problems. Evaluates and assesses emerging technologies, and analyzes complex business issues to discern implications for systems implementation and support. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 10 years of related information technology security experience in a regulated industry.
  • Effective verbal, written, and diagrammatic communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, peers and leadership to develop solutions and secure stakeholder support.
  • Technical knowledge of the IT infrastructure, managing the security infrastructure and associated regulations and frameworks.
  • Ability to interpret business, technology and threat drivers, and develop practical security roadmaps to handle these drivers.
  • Technical knowledge of systems development life-cycle (SDLC) with a solid understanding of challenges associated with the implementation of information systems, from initial concept through development, testing, implementation and operational support.
  • Working knowledge of SOA integration, integration lifecycle, and enterprise integration services and ability to understand and interpret technological impact to clinical operations including risk management, change management, configuration management, business continuity, safety and analytics.
  • Project management skills and ability to plan and lead medium to large, complex HIT projects.
  • Excellent time management, presentation, and organization skills and ability to take initiative and remain accountable for achieving results.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to accurately analyze information and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • SANS GIAC, ISC2 CISSP, or other advanced security certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a security architecture process that enables the enterprise to develop and implement security solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned with business, technology and threat drivers.
  • Tracks developments and changes in the digital business and threat environments to ensure that they’re adequately addressed in security strategy plans.
  • Participates in application and infrastructure projects to provide security-planning advice.
  • Determines baseline security configuration standards for operations systems, network segmentation, and identity and access management.
  • Validates IT infrastructure and other reference architectures for security best practices and recommends changes to enhance security and reduce risks.
  • Validates security configurations and access to security infrastructure tools, including firewalls, IPSs, WAFs and anti-malware/endpoint protection systems.
  • Reviews network segmentation to ensure least privilege for network access.
  • Liaises with the internal audit team to review and evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of security related controls.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
