About The Position

The Information Systems Applications Analyst 2- Service Applications System Administrator is for the administration and support of the Metro Legislative Management System (MLM) including Legistar, VoteCast (on prem and cloud), VoteCast Display, InSite, Live Manager (on prem and cloud), Media Manager, Special Voting, Council Connect, Boards & Commissions, GovQA, DocAccess, Legistar AI, Civix and all Council Chambers and committee rooms hardware, software, and audio-visual components. The men and women in Metro’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department work 24-7 to ensure optimum communications both within Metro and between Metro and the general public. Multiple IT teams work to ensure information safety and efficient and effective business transactions. ITS is a 24x7 information technology shop. Applicant must be willing and available to perform duties as required by the job. This may include work on nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience working in Applications Administration Support and/or an Information Technology Customer Support Center.
  • Valid Driver License
  • All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties as systems administrator, business analyst, tester, and support specialist for Metro Legislative Management System (MLM), including Legistar, VoteCast (on prem and cloud), VoteCast Display, InSite, Live Manager (on prem and cloud), Media Manager, Special Voting, Council Connect, Boards & Commissions, GovQA, DocAccess, Legistar AI, Civix and all Council Chambers and committee rooms hardware, software, and have an understanding to support the audio-visual components managed by the Metro Nashville Network.
  • Set-up of, and attendance at all Metro Council Meetings to perform technical and administrative duties as directed by Metro ITS – view and support all Committee Meetings remotely. This includes driving to the Historic Courthouse.
  • Prepare requirements for requested changes to existing IT functionality or for new functionality using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, business analysis, tasks, and workflow analysis.
  • Develop and nurture positive business relationships with ITS’ customer department staff, council members and ITS staff.
  • Coordinate and communicate with multiple areas in ITS and key customers to ensure that customer needs are met within the framework of ITS standards and policies.
  • Coordinate activities with hosting and support vendors for supported systems.
  • Collaborate with team to drive important business strategies to provide outstanding customer service, streamline processes, and meet financial goals.
  • Support of existing applications, -integrations and tasks, including Nashville.gov, SharePoint and Metro Legislative Management System (MLM), which includes audio/visual and all Granicus components.
  • Review current business processes and make recommendations for process improvement through collaboration with customers, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Work with ITS Security to enhance application security (administration, monitoring/reviews, recommendations for mitigating risks).
  • Act as liaison between ITS, vendors and users of supported applications and systems.
  • Perform any required application-based data management and monitoring, including archiving and purging processes where appropriate; define and validate success of backup processes.
  • Collaboratively develop and manage Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans for supported applications.
  • Application testing, including the development of test plans and test cases and troubleshooting the application during non-council weeks.
  • Application training for supported applications (coordination, scheduling, instruction, preparation).
  • Manage annual software maintenance and licensing for supported applications.
  • Act as conduit between council members and council office staff and ITS divisions to quickly and effectively meet and address needs.
  • Attends council meetings for the department monthly.
