About The Position

The Irrigation Technician is a production role in the field of Irrigation Maintenance. The employee spends most of the time in the field working with another technician or by themselves. The employee in this role will primarily focus on troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to be added onto company’s auto insurance policy
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of irrigation maintenance experience
• Knowledge and experience with irrigation equipment and tools
• Knowledge of occupational safety hazards and necessary safety precautions and regulations
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team
• Ability to work outside regular business hours as needed

Nice To Haves

• Backflow certification preferred or attained within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on irrigation systems
• Complete daily paperwork
• Manage and track job material
• Ensure quality control according to route schedule and company standards
• Communicate effectively with the client, manager, crew leader, and site workers
• Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with safety and quality standards
• Perform just-in-time, light maintenance on equipment, as needed in the field
• Proper use of personal protective equipment
• Record daily hours worked
• Meet deadlines and follow instructions and expectations expressed by manager
• Assist in other departments as needed
• Perform snow removal, ice treatment and salting during winter season
