To maintain and repair the automatic irrigation system for the golf course; and to assist the Golf Maintenance Superintendent in various tasks of maintenance and repair. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities.) Make rounds of the golf course every morning to determine watering needs for the day and check for broken lines, heads, etc.; take water meter reading. Check the computer daily for water settings and change the settings as needed. Check pump and well pump; ensure that well pump keeps the lake(s) full. Make printout of watering for troubleshooting purposes and plan repairs to improve the water systems. Order necessary parts for repairs; perform a variety of repairs including broken lines, sprinkler heads, leaking valves, and broken wires; raise or lower sprinkler heads and valve boxes; report repairs to Golf Maintenance Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent. Turn valves on manually to check sprinklers and drip system. Do daily on-site check of water system and rain gauge to adjust water needs. Assist with the application of fertilizers. Have the ability to perform all phases of golf maintenance and assist in the daily operations when needed. Must be able to work weekends and overtime on short notice. Maintains a consistent record of acceptable attendance and punctuality according to policy guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
