About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Installer to join our commercial landscape team in Canton, MI. In this role, you will install new irrigation systems for commercial properties, including mainlines, lateral lines, valves, sprinkler heads, controllers, and drainage components. You'll work with a team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to design specifications. Requirements

  • Experience installing PVC pipe, valves, sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, and controllers.
  • Ability to read irrigation plans and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of commercial irrigation components and installation techniques.
  • Basic understanding of irrigation wiring and controller installation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to travel between commercial job sites throughout the Metro Detroit area.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak installation season when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2-5 years of commercial irrigation installation experience preferred.
  • Experience operating trenchers, mini excavators, skid steers, or similar equipment is preferred.
  • Irrigation certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Install commercial irrigation systems from blueprints and design plans.
  • Install PVC pipe, lateral lines, mainlines, valves, sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, and fittings.
  • Install and wire irrigation controllers, timers, sensors, and electrical components.
  • Set valve boxes and install quick couplers and backflow devices.
  • Assist with system start-ups and testing to ensure proper operation.
  • Read and interpret irrigation plans and layouts.
  • Dig trenches using hand tools and equipment.
  • Backfill, compact, and restore job sites after installation.
  • Coordinate with landscape installation crews during project construction.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, trenchers, vibratory plows, mini excavators, and other installation equipment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Follow company safety procedures and OSHA standards at all times.
  • Ensure installations meet company quality standards and project specifications.
  • Communicate project progress with supervisors and crew members.
  • Identify installation challenges and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the company.
