About The Position

As an Irregular Warfare Policy SME, you will support the development of policy and implementation of recommendations related to Irregular Warfare. The role requires in-depth understanding and expertise in one or more aspects of Department of War (DoW), Service, Joint, Interagency, and Allied and Partner processes. You will propose and lead cross-cutting initiatives spanning multiple functional and/or regional portfolios, and develop and advance strategic-level, policy-driven solutions that enable effective irregular warfare execution in alignment with strategic priorities. You will coordinate relevant portfolio-holders and collaborate to produce high-quality deliverables with integrated analysis and recommendations for SO/LIC leadership. The position also ensures irregular warfare integration in strategy development, planning, posture, and global force management processes, including by maintaining relationships with relevant DoW counterparts. You will develop knowledge and expertise to meet emerging requirements and urgent, non-standard tasks, and oversee irregular warfare operations, activities, and investments to ensure alignment with policy guidance.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of OUSW(P) processes.
Understanding of irregular warfare and/or special operations.
Ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment and produce high-quality products with limited top-down guidance.
Top Secret/SCI security clearance required.
Bachelor's degree.
Experience supporting the DoW.

Nice To Haves

Headquarters-level or above experience.
Master's degree in International Relations, Foreign Affairs, Security Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
