About The Position

As an Irregular Warfare (IW) Planner, you will shape the integration of irregular warfare concepts across joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational planning efforts. You will assess complex operational environments to identify irregular threats, partner ‑ force capabilities, and opportunities to create strategic advantage. In this role, you will develop courses of action that apply unconventional, asymmetric, and information ‑ focused approaches while synchronizing activities across information, cyber, psychological, civil ‑ military, and influence operations. You will collaborate with intelligence, operations, and interagency partners to fuse analytic insights into operational design and advise commanders on the employment of irregular forces, surrogate elements, and partner ‑ nation assets. You will plan activities that counter proxy forces, insurgents, and adversarial influence networks and organizations and may be embedded within information ‑ focused operational elements to provide expert planning support that enhances mission readiness. Requirements

  • Experience with special operations or operational planning
  • Experience assessing operational environments to identify irregular threats and partner‑force capabilities
  • Experience integrating irregular warfare principles into joint or interagency planning processes
  • Experience developing courses of action employing unconventional or asymmetric approaches
  • Experience synchronizing activities across information, cyber, psychological, or civil‑military operations
  • Ability to fuse intelligence analysis into operational design and planning
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master’s degree and 10+ years of experience with irregular warfare or Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years of experience with irregular warfare

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at the Combatant Command level
  • Knowledge of JOPP, MDMP, MCPP, and joint operational design processes
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Graduate of Joint or Service Irregular Warfare professional military education programs
