About The Position

Irregular Forces Coordinator The Opportunity: As a defense mission professional, you ask questions others don’t. You understand the nuances of complex situations. You use your skills to think bigger and push further, solving complex problems. We’re looking for someone like you to help create solutions for missions that keep our nation safe. What You'll Work On: Design, develop, and build regional military, paramilitary, irregular, and civilian population entities into exercise databases and simulation environments. Maintain change logs and version control for all database entries and associated products. Update and maintain the Irregular Threat Slide and associated briefing products for use across ELC phases and senior leader briefings. Coordinate with OPFOR and Joint partners regarding unconventional forces operations and integration into the Command’s Campaign Plan. Participate in OSC Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) and war gaming processes and prepare and deliver back-briefs of Irregular Forces plans to OSC Commander and other leaders as required. Develop detailed Irregular Force and Criminal Network order-of-battle, background materials, biographies, doctrines, capabilities, weaknesses, and operational patterns to be replicated during WFX. Review, recommend additions or deletions, and assist in drafting the Irregular Forces Annex to Operations Orders (OPORDs) and exercise orders and ensure logical consistency with storylines and doctrine. Coordinate with storyline authors to define requirements for intelligence support tied to Irregular Forces and criminal networks. Conduct classified and unclassified research on emerging irregular tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), threats, and trends and propose replicable inputs for exercise storylines. Plan, script, and coordinate Irregular Forces attacks and adaptive operations for both scripted and competitive or opposing scenarios, ensuring safety and doctrinal realism. Function as Work Area Commander during Warfighter Exercises. Act as Brigade Commander of Special Purpose Forces (SPF) Brigade or Commando Brigade Commander and make operational or tactical decisions for assigned sub-units. Command militia, guerrilla, and other specialized units assigned to the work area. Coordinate terrorist or insurgent attacks and adaptive operations with Red Senior Control, SDD, and other agencies to ensure doctrinally correct and logically accurate portrayal of OE activities. Produce and maintain Irregular Threat Slides, OPORD Annex drafts, force or background packets, attack plans, intelligence requirements, storyboards, AAR inputs, and other exercise artifacts. Join us. Requirements

  • Experience using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of current Army and Joint doctrine
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations up to 20% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in the military, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in the military

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with irregular, unconventional, counterinsurgency, or paramilitary forces in an operational, training, or intelligence role
  • Experience supporting large-scale collective training, including WFX, JEFX, MCTP, combat training centers, or equivalent
  • Experience with OPFOR planning, MDMP, and war gaming at brigade and operational levels
  • Knowledge of irregular warfare doctrine, insurgent or criminal network behaviors, hybrid threat concepts, and asymmetric tactics
  • Knowledge of current operational environments, hybrid threats, and large-scale combat operations
  • Master's degree
