About The Position

Ledcor is seeking skilled Apprentice or Journeyperson Ironworkers for a major industrial expansion project in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The role involves erecting, installing, and aligning structural steel components, performing bolt-up and torqueing, executing rigging and signaling for crane lifts, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed. Requirements

  • Journeyperson Ironworker ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Apprentice Ironworkers must be registered with a provincial training authority
  • Previous industrial construction experience
  • Must be able to work from heights
  • Fall Protection Certification
  • Valid government ID
  • Project online orientations must be completed

Responsibilities

  • Erect, install, and align structural steel components (beams, columns, platforms, pipe racks) per engineered drawings
  • Perform bolt-up, torqueing, and structural assembly to specification
  • Execute rigging and signaling for crane lifts, guiding loads safely into place
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and lift plans to support accurate installation
  • Complete FLHAs and follow all site safety procedures, including fall protection and permit systems
  • Operate and inspect tools, rigging equipment, and access equipment
  • Support material handling, site organization, and crew activities
  • Complete tasks safely, efficiently, and within project deadlines, following Ledcor’s high standards for safety and quality
