About The Position

This role requires an Ironworker (Structural) Foreman to supervise Craftsmen in daily work assignments, ensuring a thorough understanding and adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures. The position demands strong communication skills, both verbal and written. The Foreman will primarily report to the Structural General Foreman or Structural Superintendent and must possess proficient skills and knowledge relevant to maintenance, turnaround, or construction environments.

Requirements

Minimum of four (4) years or more of refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
Knowledge of structural iron repair, maintenance, and preventative maintenance methods, practices, and procedures.
Must know how to read and interpret structural drawings.
Must be able to pass the Craft Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft.
Must have a good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures.
Completed the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, S.T.A.R.T. Class and Client / Site specific training.
To obtain and maintain an active status within the required drug testing program.
Subject to random drug screenings.
MUST pass background check.
MUST have TWIC card.
MUST have a 20-hour high hazard facility training card.
MUST have Verification of 8,000 craft related hours OR Graduated journeyperson status preferred.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the inventory of power tools, equipment and hoses for Structural crew.
Analyze complex structural ironwork projects and recommend alternative strategies to complete the same project.
Reviewing project status reports prepared by the general foreman and reallocating resources to ensure projects are completed on time.
Knowledge of applicable safety and code standards specific to the structural ironwork trade, including OSHA standards.
Maintain Safety Accountability Procedures.
Assure that a high quality of work is being maintained.
Reviewing individual crew daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for compliance, and attending weekly crew safety meeting to make sure all employees are engaged in conversation.
Have good supervisor skills for managing crews.
Promote a strong Safety culture within the crews supervised.
Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
