About The Position

GrayWolf is seeking an Ironworker Helper for a job in Oxford, North Carolina. GrayWolf is a heavy industrial and commercial construction contractor providing design, fabrication, construction, and facility-management solutions nationwide. The Ironworker Helper supports journeyman-level craft workers by performing construction-project support tasks, including erecting, wrecking, repairing, and maintaining equipment, as well as janitorial functions. The work involves using tools and basic rigging equipment safely, handling construction materials, and performing physical tasks at construction sites.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience as a helper-level construction worker.
Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 45 pounds.
Must be able to move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
Must be able to work shifts of up to 12 hours in varying temperature extremes and outdoor conditions.
Must be able to climb and maintain balance on steel frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
Must be able to work at heights using fall protection and work from manlifts, baskets, and JLGs.
PPE footwear and prescription safety glasses or eye shields are required.

Nice To Haves

Mechanical experience background is preferred.

Responsibilities

Work safely around hazards associated with the construction field.
Safely use hand, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.
Demonstrate basic construction-math competency as required by trade practice.
Identify and use basic rigging procedures and equipment, including chain hoists, come-alongs, jacks, and tuggers.
Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel using a pick and shovel.
Lift, carry, and hold building materials and supplies.
Assist journeyman-level craft workers with support tasks, including erecting, wrecking, repairing, and maintaining equipment, and performing janitorial functions.
