About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks an Ironworker Helper for a project in Stillwater, OK. This role involves assisting in the installation, maintenance, and operation of instruments and measuring devices for functional systems. The job requires loading, transporting, and furnishing experienced craft workers with necessary materials, tools, and equipment. Responsibilities also include cleaning work areas, performing work from scaffolding and ladders, working overhead and at heights, lifting and carrying objects, and responding to dangerous conditions. Regular attendance and potential for significant travel are expected.

Requirements

  • Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
  • Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
  • Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
  • Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces.
  • Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
  • Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing, maintaining and operating all instruments and measuring devices needed for functional systems.
  • Load, transport, unload and furnish experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
  • Perform work from scaffolding, ladders or other structures.
  • Perform work overhead, at heights, beneath structures, and from various other positions as required by working conditions.
  • Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
  • Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
  • Performs minor maintenance and cleaning activities of site, tools and equipment.
  • Ability to verbally communicate directions from craft supervisors, and respond to questions from managers and fellow workers.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Significant travel may be required.
  • Performs other duties as required
