About The Position

Ironworker Helper assists skilled ironworkers with tasks related to the erection, installation, and maintenance of steel structures like buildings and bridges. They are responsible for preparing materials, maintaining tools, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Helpers also learn to read blueprints, use tools, and assist with tasks like cutting, bending, and welding steel.

Requirements

Physical fitness and stamina: The job is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift, bend, and work in various conditions.
Ability to follow instructions: Working under supervision and learning from experienced ironworkers.
Basic understanding of construction: Familiarity with tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
Willingness to learn: A desire to progress and develop skills in the ironworking trade.

Experience: – 3+ years of Industrial level experience.

Responsibilities

Supporting skilled ironworkers: Helping position, align, and secure steel components.
Using tools and equipment: Learning to use hand tools, power tools, and potentially welding equipment under supervision.
Maintaining a safe work environment: Adhering to safety procedures and participating in Firewatch or spotter duties.
Gaining knowledge of blueprint reading, steel fabrication, and rigging techniques.
