About The Position

Audubon is currently seeking an Ironworker I to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Ironworker I performs skilled fabrication, erection, and installation of structural steel, reinforced iron for industrial facilities.

Requirements

  • Five years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Five years' experience as an Ironworker.
  • Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
  • Steel construction and quality assurance practices and procedures.
  • Construction safety practices.
  • Proven experience as reading steel plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
  • Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Related trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pulls or pries steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures.
  • Sets up and breaks down hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members.
  • Fastens steel members to cable of hoist and signals to operator lifting equipment.
  • Safe use of power tools such as saws, drills, planes, sanders, routers and grinders.
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Identifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members.
  • Aligns bolt members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted.
  • Cut steel members to make alterations.
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements
